Gate repair is hands-on work. You show up, you figure out what broke, you fix it, and you leave the gate running the way it should. That’s the job. At Warden Gate Repair, we’re not looking for someone to fill a seat – we’re looking for people who actually want to do the work well. We’ve been at this since 2008 as part of the Threshold Group family, and the technicians, dispatchers, and support people who’ve stayed with us longest are the ones who take the job seriously: show up clean, explain what’s wrong before touching anything, hand the customer a written price, and stand behind what they did. If that’s how you work, you’ll fit here.
Who We’re Looking For
- Gate Repair Technician – You can diagnose a mechanical or electrical fault without guessing, and you’re comfortable explaining what you found in plain language.
- Electric Gate Technician – You understand control boards, wiring harnesses, and loop detectors, and you know when to call the fault and when to push further.
- Gate Motor Specialist – You’ve worked with linear actuators, underground operators, or swing-gate motors, and broken gear assemblies don’t slow you down.
- Apprentice / Entry-Level Installer – You’re good with your hands, you follow instruction well, and you want a trade skill you can build a career on.
- Dispatcher / Service Coordinator – You can juggle a board of calls, communicate clearly under pressure, and you understand that a customer calling about a stuck gate is having a bad day.
- Customer Service Representative – You answer the phone like a real person, you know how to calm someone down without over-promising, and you’d rather give the right answer than the fast one.
What We Offer
Real Training and a Clear Path
We don’t hand you a manual and wish you luck. Apprentices work alongside experienced technicians, learning how gate systems actually behave in the field – not just how they’re supposed to. From apprentice to lead tech, there’s a defined progression, and we’re specific about what each step looks like so you’re not guessing where you stand.
Work You Can Be Proud Of
The Threshold Standard means every job runs the same way: written price before any work starts, a 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing on every repair, and a background-checked tech who shows up with ID and a photo sent ahead. When you work inside that structure, you’re not cutting corners to hit a quota – you’re doing the job right, every time. That’s a different feeling at the end of the day.
Local Crew, National Backing
Every Warden Gate Repair location is independently owned and operated, which means you’re working with a close-knit local crew, not a faceless regional center. At the same time, you’re backed by the Threshold Group network: factory-trained service protocols, authorized parts for nine major brands including LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, and Mighty Mule, and standards that have been refined since 2008. You get both.
Steady, Real Demand
Gates break. They break in the rain, on weekends, and right after someone’s had a long day. Electric gate systems are more common than they were a decade ago, and the demand for qualified technicians who can work on them is not going away. This isn’t seasonal work tied to a single product cycle – it’s a trade with consistent volume across residential and commercial accounts.
No Experience? Read This.
If you’ve worked in HVAC, automotive repair, irrigation, low-voltage electrical, fence installation, or anything else that required you to figure out why something stopped working – you already have skills that transfer directly to gate repair. Understanding mechanical systems, reading a wiring diagram, or knowing how to handle a customer conversation when something went wrong are all things we can build on.
What we teach: how gate operators and control systems work, how to service the specific brands we’re authorized on, how to follow the Threshold Standard on every visit, and how to deliver a written price and explain it clearly. The first months involve riding with an experienced tech, handling simpler diagnostics under supervision, and getting comfortable with our process before you’re running calls solo. We’d rather take time with you up front than rush you into situations you’re not ready for.
If you’re serious about learning a trade that pays for itself and you’re not afraid of a problem that fights back a little, call us. We’ll talk honestly about where you are and what the path looks like.
